Different points of the year such as the turn of seasons offer us moments to reflect, to look back and to take the feedback life has given us to figure out what needs to go and what needs to come with us - both in the metaphoric and physical. This season is all about refining back, and shedding the layers of things that are ready to be rebirthed and/or die. So that we can anchor down into rest as our most bare, and true selves; leaving little to no barrier to the self in clear communion and connection.
We all have layers of untapped potential and big dreams, but if there's one thing I know and have learned these pasts years is that without truly forging toward them they will stay in our minds and in the ethers, taking aligned action can be hard (see step 1) but can also be just the thing that creates momentum and results giving us that motivation to stay consistent and keep going. Overcome the fear, act and see what happens.
So take a moment to drop in, to think and to feel, to breathe into that vision in your heart - I don't care if you feel miles apart, if you started to give up, time is not linear, and when we make a choice and take action things can start to fall into place in ways unimaginable.
1) Vision
Holding the vision, feeling into the embodied version of you that would act. Even notice the two versions of you that are often here when making decision, and moving through your day: the one held back by limitations that sees the fears, and the one who says let's go ahead; take the step forward.
Live in this other version even for a week and see what changes come to pass, write it in your journal for future inspiration or on a post it that you can see by your bed or in your room where you get ready.
2) Routine: how we start and end our day is so key
Do you take time to allow yourself unwind or to allow yourself get set up for the best day ahead? This includes everything from our space being clean, to taking time offline, to a gentle bit of movement or meditation, and reflection based practices such as journalling. Even getting a few lines out to clear your mind can work wonders and offer insight to where we are at - and often next steps of what we are in need, or to take action with.
Visualisation as we fall asleep and as we wake, taking time to actually take a break between days and reflect for even 5 minutes is powerful and better then none - once again not as a way to berate ourselves but instead to once again, take feedback. What could I have done better? What did I do well? Where have I held back and what do I want to achieve going forward / tomorrow?
Be realistic, and take space for rituals to start and end each day.
3) Herbs & movement
These are something so vital to my life, and I can't express enough how powerful it is working with plant allies and spirits, with the elements, as well as balancing rest with movement. I truly believe that we as humans once lived in reverence with the land and her elements which included herbs, foods as medicine, feeling the beauty and medicine of the elements and more; which is why I think it brings so much joy and vitality to my life. It's natural;, it's human nature. Check out The Medicine Space for more tips on these areas, we have a beautiful collaboration coming up soon with a Dublin based herbalist where we will deep dive into so many of these practices but also keep an eye on our socials as we will be sharing tips!
*this series has since finished but we have plenty more coming in the new year - including a beauty workshop (think beauty from the inside, liver, skin support and non-toxic tips) - so keep an eye out!
It's a marathon, and not a sprint, life is a journey, its not finite and you are absolutely never stuck where you are right now., at the same time; do take a moment for reflection, for the feedback and to realise your own agency, ability and action that can take you right from where you are-----------> to where you want to be.
Beir bua, Be victorious ;)
You got this.
